Dead Reckoning (Sookie Stackhouse book 11) is another masterpiece written by Charlaine Harris and is the 11th installment of the Sookie Stackhouse series. The book hit #1 on The New York Times best sellers list in the hardcover fiction section.

What’s it about?

So how does the story unfold in Charlaine Harris’ Dead Reckoning? I’ll give you a little preview:

In this novel, Sookie is a witness of the firebombing of Merlotte’s, the bar where she works. The owner, Sam Merlotte, has always been known as to be two-natured, which makes the anti-shifters in the area suspicious. However, Sookie suspects otherwise… At the same time she realizes that her lover, Eric Northman, and his so called “child” Pam have formed a plot to kill their master, an evil vampire. Slowly but surely, Sookie is drawn into the plot, which is much more complicated than she could ever have imagined.

Alright, so without spoiling the rest of the book, I will try my best to give my opinion on Dead Reckoning without giving you too much information on how the rest of the story unfolds.

What do I think of Charlaine’s new book?

After sitting down with a few of my friends who have read the book as well, we always get a light discussion going. Several of my friends said that Charlaine Harris just lost her touch. According to them, the story never really unfolds and when they were at the last chapter of the book, they were still waiting for a more developed story. Well, I guess you can’t please them allbut I loved this Charlaine Harris’ book 11. The story takes off where the last installment ended and sucks you right back in.

The Sookie Stackhouse series is a really fun and entertaining one to read. If you have never read any of the installments then I suggest you start right at the beginning: Dead Until Dark

As you can see, this book became pretty popular in a short time. No wonder the book made the New York Time’s best sellers list in no time. Charlaine really wrote an interesting series with Sookie as the main character. There is just something about her that grabs you and won’t let go. I had a lot of fun reading Charlaine Harris’ books and this one is no different. I really can’t wait for her next work.

Also, the great thing about this book is that it’s just dirt cheap. In most book stores this book will cost you about $25 which is quite something. However, on amazon this book will not even cost you $17! You can’t even buy lunch for that!
